Saanwariya.. An Offbeat movie.. The movie that should oft be beaten

This was the day... i was doomed.. the day was SUNDAY and the date 18th November... I went to watch a movie called Saanwariya (Now dont consider me as Rani Laksmibai for the courage that I gathered to watch this movie.. huh)... Actually after a week of work, we wanted to enjoy and so went to watch a movie.. although the reviews and the critics already terorized me biiig time .. but then we thought taht if we can watch a movie called AAG.. then this can be another feather on the cap... the movie began and my agony also ... The whole movie set uo in some hypothetical town ... No Actually the english dictionary doesnt have a word to describe the place.. and in an era that is neither nor present... So first we need to find the ERA and LOCATION....And If we make that out we need not clear a CAT or a GRE.. that wil just show that we are intelligent and have an aptitude.. huh.. The whole set-up was bichromatic(blue and green).....Also the colors that these characters wore were either blue bl

Jab We met.. A nice movie

Jab we met .. Yes this was one movie in recent past after Chak De that I enjoyed thoroughly and it was a grt experience.. i planned this movie with one of my very close friend.. and we have not met for almost 2 years .. So teh name was a coincidence ..... We really had a blast especially since the charactr of Geet resembled me in so many ways that it was really a pleasant experince althrough .. Shahid KApur, kareena kapoor and the music were turn on.. the second half with the hyper-energetic family etal was the worst part

TIME MANAGED IS MONEY MANAGED

This weekend I got this grt opportunity to visit Delhi for a family gathering.. Hey do not worry ... This blog wont have the experience for the family gathering..(That i m sure wont bring any curiosity in ur minds).. Here i m discussing about the Air travel in India.. In a decade and a half, there has been economic revolution in our country ... The middle class for whom air travel was a dream years back can easily afford this now .. it saves time and that is important these days .. for most of us carry laptops so tat we can work from home... But we Indians lack basic sense of responsibility .... Noveo riche in India who are getting opportunity for Air- Travel lack the sense of responsibility that should come with the money-power... There was this gentleman in the air-craft where the air-hostess patience was tested.. This gentleman- lets call him Mr Bond ... just cos he was bonded with his mobile .... and even after take-off he was discussing something so ardently that he was kinda ign

UTOPIA... An antonym of this world

It was the vijayadashmi ... yaa a day of Good's victory over evil .... and the festivities were on.. just wondered how do we relate the utopian world and this real world.... I wonder in utopian world.... We would not search external beauty but see through the skin and internal beauty wud be important A world where India would be a winner in all the games .... cricket , hockey , olympics .... A world where Commitment in a relationship wud be the forte of the XY gender .... A world where Innovation and talent wud weigh mightier than marks and grades ... A world where the autowallahs of bangalore after 9.30 would come to us and ask for half the fare(ie instead of double).. UTOPIA - ya thats the antonym of this world... HUH..

HEALTH IS WEALTH

Health is wealth ... But who appreciates this these days.. We are all only u in the business of MONEY MAKING coz we know that we can buy the medicines or drugs and these drugs will cure us of all the ailments... but we forget that in the long run they also harm our body.. I am a pharmacist by profession and I know that each drug has a side effect attached to it...There is a list of OTC drugs aka over-thecounter drugs yess... the list of drugs for which no prescription is needed... Go through it and weigh the benefits to risk ratio..... Here is a breakdown of the very popular ones: ANALGIN : This is a pain-killer Reason for ban : Bone marrow depression Brand name : Novalgin CISAPRIDE: Acidity, constipation Reason for ban: Irregular Heartbeat Brand name : Ciza, Syspride DROPERIDOL: Anti-depressant Reason for ban : Irregular heartbeat Brand name : Droperol FURAZOLIDONE: Antidiarrhoeal Reason for ban : Cancer Brand name : Furoxone, Lomofen NIMESULIDE: Painkiller, fever Reason for

Rise of the Heros and fall of the Mighty

That was A MONDAY EVENING............. I have always hated MONDAY as that is the first day of the week and that also coaxed me to start up a commuity on orkut called I HATE MONDAY MORNING...(And surprisingly it already has 500+ members ... reiterating the fact that s many ppl believein this maxim)....But this was no ordinary day.. it was MONDAY the 24th ... The first final of T20 The first WC final between India and Pak.... and The firstWC final where the average age of the Indian players was less than 24 years... India has the reputation of defeating pakis in all the WC matches and the way they thrashed the 2 greatest teams -SA and Mighty Australia..It was amazing so a lil of hope was somewhere in my heart... We Indians are Myrimidons of Cricket and I was no different ... I folowed cricket .. although never knew the naunces and the technicalities but still loved the game ... Although I stopped watching the match when India lost so badly in 2003 finals against Australia and then my ide

AAG and SHOLAY

PENURY of MIND is what may be offered by the Genius. I have been an ardent fan of RGV ... and the unconventional names that he uses for his Movies..... Who would dare to name the movie as D or Abb Takk Chappan or BHOOT... but he does and that justifies the script, only to make us believe that this factory works on scripts and not just masala... 'Kitne aadmi the', any guesses for the name of the movie...... Yes it is in fact SHOLAY the blockbuster of 70's that still have takers like me who can watch the movie several number of times..... In his interviews several times Mr Amitabh bacchan has expressed his interest for playing Gabbar Singh.. And not everyones dreams become reality.... Although this doesnt hold good for a certain AB....All his wishes come true..Lucky man indeed.. So The stage was all set for the remake of the movie-Sholay and in several interviews that i have seen RGV has this to say- This is my interpretaton of the classic.. Hmmm.... Petrified by the reviews

Gone are the days

Gone are the days!!! When The school reopened in June, And we settled in our new desks and benches! When we queued up in book depot, And got our new books and notes! When we wanted two Sundays and no Mondays, Yet managed to line up daily for the morning prayers. We learnt writing with slates and pencils, and Progressed To fountain pens and ball pens and then Micro tips! When we began drawing with crayons and evolved to Color pencils and finally sketch pens! When we started calculating first with tables and then with Clarke's tables and advanced to Calculators and computers! When we chased one another in the corridors in Intervals, and returned to the classrooms Drenched in sweat! When we had lunch in classrooms, corridors, Playgrounds, under the trees and even in cycle sheds! When all the colors in the world, Decorated the campus on the Second Saturdays! When a single P.T. period in the week's Time Table, Was awaited more eagerly than the monsoons! When cri

OUR TRICOLOR

The following is an extract from the preamble to the flag code of India as posted on the official Home Ministry website of the Indian government: The significance of the colours and the chakra in the National Flag was amply described by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan in the Constituent Assembly : Dr. S. Radhakrishnan explained - Bhagwa or the saffron colour - renunciation of disinterestedness. Our leaders must be indifferent to material gains and dedicate themselves to their work. White in the centre - Light, the path of truth to guide our conduct. Green - shows our relation to soil, our relation to the plant life here on which all other life depends. The Ashoka Wheel in the centre of the white is the wheel of the law of dharma. Truth or satya, dharma or virtue ought to be the controlling principles of those who work under this flag. Again, the wheel denotes motion. There is death in stagnation. There is life in movement. India should no more resist change, it must move and go forward. The w

FEW GOOD LAWS... So true

Law of queue: If you change queues, the one you have left will start to move faster than the one you are in now. Law of the Telephone: When you dial a wrong number, you never get an engaged tone. Law of Mechanical Repair: After your hands become coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch. Law of the Workshop: Any tool, when dropped, will roll to the least accessible corner. Law of the Alibi: If you tell the boss you were late for work because you had a flat tire, the next morning you will have a flat tire. Bath Theorem: When the body is immersed in water, the telephone rings. Auto walaahs n Blore

Today I had a terrible experience while coming to office.... Generally I use bus as the mode of transport but thats only 30 % of time almost 70% I use these Black and Yellow Autos....and yaa these autowalaahs are BADSHAAH of their territory ...I value their contribution in the society but there are also fanatics who ruin the reputation of fellow atowallahs... The METER yaa..that meter was running at 1.5 times .... Suddenly all ETHICS and MORALS started popping up and I gave him a Biig bhashan and noted the DL number and Auto number and also warned him about this and .... I gave him the moey as per his meter but he returned the extra and confessed that he has indeed tampered with the meter, I asked him to correct it .... I then thought that since I caught him atleast he agreed that he has tampered with the meter but look at the broader picture--- the IAS , IPS and politicians and yaa BUILDERS.. etc.... And I remained UNANSWERED

Realization is the first step to success

Hi, We always say that the Indian brain is amongst the best... and we also say that the we are the 2nd(sadly..huh)populous state of the world .... So, by the law of averages we tend to have a grp of intelligent individuals .... So talk about intelligence density . Moreover, we shud talk about the various feats.... we only talk about the achievers and be happy ... essentially we Indians are emotional fools who just belive that India is the best .. Its not the best as yet but can become the BEST and u and I can do that .... I dont understand if we dont realise that we lag behind in so many aspects, we cannot conquer over our weaknesses......

Family problems

Once two men sat in a bar drinking. The first one said to the other, "I have a hell lot of family problems." The second one said, "I'll tell you mine. I married a widow having a young daughter. My father married my daughter and so my father became my son-in-law and I became my father's father-in-law. My daughter is my mother and my wife my grandmother. More problems occurred when I had a son. My son is my father's brother and so he my uncle. Situations turned worse when my father had a son. Now my father's son i.e. my brother is my grandson. Ultimately, I have become my own grand father and I am my own grandson. And you say you have family problems!!

Nice one

Enjoy................ Mom comes to visit her son Kumar for dinner.....who lives with a girl roommate Sunita. During the course of the meal, his mother couldn'thelp but notice how pretty Kumar's, roommate was. She had long been suspicious of a relationship between the two, and this had only made her more curious.Over the course of the evening, while watching the two interact, shestarted to wonder if there was more between Kumar and his roommate thanmet the eye.Reading his mom's thoughts, Kumar volunteered, "I know what you must bethinking, but I assure you, Sunita and I are just roommates. "About a week later, Sunita came to Kumar saying, "Ever since yourmother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the silver plate. You don'tsuppose she took it, do you?" Kumar said ,"Well, I doubt it, but I'll email her, just to be sure."So he sat down and wrote :Dear Mother:I'm not saying that you 'did' take the silver plate from my h

News Dictated by TRPs for how long?????

Shame on Indian Media??? Really what a shame... By the time u guys read this news, the body of Major Manish Pitambare, who was shot dead at Anantnag, would have been cremated with full military honors. On Tuesday, this news swept across all the news channels 'Sanjay Dutt relieved by court'. 'Sirf Munna not a bhai' '13 saal ka vanvaas khatam' 'although found guilty for possession of armory, Sanjay can breath sigh of relief as all the TADA charges against him are withdrawn' Then many personalities like Salman Khan said 'He is a good person. We knew he will come out clean'. Mr Big B said "Dutt's family and our family have relations for years he's a good kid. He is like elder brother to Abhishek". His sister Priya Dutt said "we can sleep well tonight. It's a great relief"In other news, Parliament was mad at Indian team for performing bad; Greg Chappell said something; Shah Rukh Khan replaces Amitabh in KBC and other su

Jhoom barabar Jhoom.........Kuuch Zyada hi IRRITATING

There are movies that are script based such as Swades RDB etc where there are actors not the stars.. and then there are movies that has Stars sans story...... and this pathetic and sick movie sadly falls in the latter category... even the songs are not soulful or melodious.. I wonder how has the banner (Yashraj) risen beyond story and script ?????? I would recommend it only to my stringest enemy .... thankfully I have none..so IT IS HIGHLY NON-RECOMMENDED.....And ratings well in negatives.... the only relief was that it was a 2 hr movie...... Pls return my money...

ENGLISH is a BHERY PHUNNY language

These four classified ads appeared in a newspaper on four consecutive days. The last three hopelessly trying to correct the first day's mistake... MONDAY: For sale - Vishanth has a sewing machine for sale. Phone 98407 16581 after 7PM and ask for Mrs Mani who lives with him cheap. TUESDAY: Notice: We regret having erred in Vishanth's ad yesterday. It should have read, "One sewing machine for sale cheap. Phone 98407 16581 and ask for Mrs Mani, who lives with him after 7PM." WEDNESDAY: Notice: Vishanth has informed us that he has received several annoying telephone calls because of t he error we made in the classified ad yesterday. The ad stands correct as follows: "For sale - Vishanth has a sewing machine for sale; Cheap. Phone 98407 16581 after 7PM and ask for Mrs. Mani who loves with him. THURSDAY: Notice: I, Vishanth, have no sewing machine for sale. I smashed it. Don't call 98407 16581 as I have had the phone disconnected. I have not been carrying on with M

Traffic: Slow moving ....

Shakespeare in his famous play Romeo and Juliet said "What's in a name? That which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet" Yaa this is so correct when we talk about the traffic in Bangalore.. its just the perspective is positive .. instead of Traffic Jam , has been rechristend as Slow Moving Traffic.... The roads are getting narrower each passing day.. and proof that populaton of India is increasing is proven each dauy when I struggle to reach to my office each day... We were taught in our classes that the traffic signal has 3 colors , but here it is just RED RED and RED..... It is said that the darkest hour is just before dawn .... but i think this period has exceeded way too far.... God Pls Help... Clear this topic The inspiration for this blog: I WAS LATE TO OFFICE ;)

Clouds in Bangalore... wat a sight

Bnagalore.... Much said and heard....Silicon Valley of India and stuff... and the cool and excellent weather was considered as an add on ... but when i landed in this city almost a year back, I found the other side of the mirror....Pollution and Traffic..... the formula called: distance=speedXtime, seems illogical ... because more often than not the speed never exceeds.. 5 km/h.. thanks to teh traffic here .... and yaa the weather.. thats another paradox to unveil... but today was a different day .....traffic i dont wanna talk about but weather is excellent.. so I clicked the pic and the song came to my mind .. Barso re megha megha.... I neve thought that I LOVE RAINS so much....

Bangalore- It was the city of joy I suppose

Lots seen and heard of Bangalore- Silicon valley of Asia .. and stuff... Weather is perfect ... [It is said that despite the catastrophy of World War II, one reason for the growth of Japan has been the weather there ]......may be thats the reason that IT sector bloomed in this part of the world...But what now... deforestation , gargantuan increase in the traffic has soared the temperature .. but today (report -20/06/07..), the weather is so pleasant .. while coming to office ,I clicked this image... and yaa this reiteartes the fact that humans love rains and clouds...
